Early Childhood Approach:

Here are resources outlining NDIS eligibility for children under 6 who don't require a diagnosis:

  • Accessing funding without a diagnosis

  • What do you need to access NDIS funding? In other words, a report from a GP, an Occupational Therapist, and an early childhood educator confirming a developmental delay compared to same-age peers qualifies for applying to the NDIS.

  • The process for NDIS funding can take several months, therefore, we recommend starting with private health and medicare funded sessions as we support you through the NDIS process.

Funding FAQ:

What happens if I pay the $40 deposit for my chosen number of sessions, will I still be eligible for a rebate for my sessions from Medicare and/or private health insurance?:

Yes, you will still be eligible for the rebate.

  • Medicare Customers:

Deposits are necessary due to the high demand from families seeking the earliest appointment available. Your Medicare care plan works like a bundle of 5 session rebates. For example, the cost per session for a 6-session booking with us is $120. If you pay (6x$40) upfront as a deposit for the 6 sessions, your balance would reduce to $80 per session (for 5 Medicare rebated sessions). Medicare provides a rebate of $56 per session, so you will still be eligible for this full rebate after each session as they occur.

So it looks like this:

Cost per session (based on if you choose 6 sessions):
$120

Deposit paid upfront (6 sessions):
$40 × 6 = $240

Remaining balance per session after deposit:
$120 − $40 = $80

Medicare rebate per session:
$56

Out-of-pocket per session (after rebate):
$80−$56=$24

It works in the same way no matter how many sessions you choose to go with.

  • Private Health Insurance Customers:

Deposits are necessary due to the high demand from families seeking the earliest appointment available. Your private health extras is likely to have coverage of approximately $70 per session, with a yearly limit of $300 per year. For example, the cost per session for a 6-session booking with us is $120. If you pay (6x$40) upfront as a deposit for the 6 sessions, your balance would reduce to $80 per session. Your private health insurance will cover around $70 of this, which you can claim after each session as they occur.

So it looks like this:

Cost per session (based on if you choose 6 sessions):
$120

Deposit paid upfront (6 sessions):
$40 × 6 = $240

Remaining balance per session after deposit:
$120 − $40 = $80

Private health insurance rebate per session:
$70

Out-of-pocket per session (after rebate):
$80 − $70 = $10

It works in the same way no matter how many sessions you choose to go with.
